Communications Research University Relations views communications research as an ongoing responsibility. We constantly monitor the media, the communications strategies and publications of our peer institutions, the new technologies, trends and professional literature in higher education communications.
This secondary research provides the background for the primary research we undertake on behalf for MSU and various MSU units and initiatives. We design and conduct both quantitative and qualitative research to help our internal clients gain maximum knowledge of the audiences they are targeting, their perceptions of MSU, what messages resonate with them, and where they receive their information.
Our research driven approach to marketing and communications planning and implementation allows us to best define the strategic mix of communications tactics and will engage, inform, and influence our key audiences.
Our research services include:
- design and project management of surveys by mail, telephone, email and Web;
- project design and conduct or management of focus groups and executive interviews;
- marketing plan and literature audits;
- interpretation and reporting of research findings;
- consulting and recommendations of communications activities suggested by findings.
